Vintage Tech & Toys, Insured the Way Collectors Actually Own Them.
Condition is everything. Context is everything else. Your insurance should be as precise as your eye.

You know the difference between a first-run Game Boy with a clean screen and a later production unit. You've graded an original 1977 Star Wars 12-back on the card before most people knew that was something you could do. You understand what "complete in box" actually means, and why a sealed MISB Optimus Prime from 1984 is a fundamentally different object than a loose figure with all accessories. Whether you're hunting all-original Apple I boards, WATA-graded NES carts, vintage synthesizers with full documentation, factory-sealed Atari 2600 games, or the GI Joe you had as a kid in a grade you couldn't have imagined keeping at age eight. WAX Collect was built for collectors who understand that condition is everything and context is everything else.
Powering up
WAX Collect covers theft, accidental damage, fire, flooding, worldwide travel, and pets. In a vintage tech and toy collection, accidental damage is doing real work, a dropped sealed box, a screen crack on a rare prototype, a humidity event in a storage unit. Fire and flooding are genuine collection-ending scenarios. All covered.
Pets: a documented risk with open boxes, vintage cables, and foam inserts that smell interesting to a medium-sized dog. Covered.
Lever one: Configure your build
Two optional coverages, each independently toggleable. Your premium adjusts in real time. Build the policy that matches your actual collecting life, not the average collector's.
Checked Baggage Coverage
Covers items lost or damaged through airline baggage handling. If you travel to Toy Fair, San Diego Comic-Con, or regional collector conventions with pieces in checked luggage, this is relevant. If everything ships professionally or goes carry-on, easy remove.
Unattended Auto Coverage
Protects pieces left in an unattended vehicle. The post-show parking lot. The estate sale haul. The pickup from a private seller. If those scenarios are part of your collecting life, toggle it on. If not, drop it and keep the savings.
Want Mysterious Disappearance? It's included as standard on WAX Classic™.
Lever two: Choose your grade configuration
Traditional insurers lock every collection at 150% agreed value. Treating a WATA 9.8 A+ sealed copy of Stadium Events the same as a played-with loose NES cart. They aren't the same insurance problem.
WAX Flex™ gives you three settings:
100%. Agreed value, paid in full. Right for collections with stable, well-documented values where market appreciation isn't the primary concern.
125%. Up to 125% above agreed value. Subject to the class limit. For collections where steady appreciation is documented and expected, graded vintage toys gaining attention, sealed software from consoles with active collector communities, original packaging for product lines experiencing renewed demand.
150%. Full market appreciation protection. For genuinely rare sealed examples. For WATA-graded black-box NES games in 9+ grades. For factory-sealed vintage toys with documented provenance. For historically significant tech. Apple I boards, original Altair 8800 systems, first-generation Macintosh units in working condition with original accessories and packaging.
A factory-sealed, graded Generation 1 Optimus Prime MISB is not the same insurance conversation as a complete-loose played-with equivalent. WAX Flex™ lets you treat them accordingly.
Lever three, the bundle that actually makes sense
Vintage tech and toy collectors frequently collect adjacent things. Comics, trading cards, memorabilia, original game art, vintage advertising. WAX Flex™ rewards the collector who brings multiple categories to one platform.
One category: base rate. Two: automatic discount. Three: greater discount applied automatically in real time. No calls. No enrollment.
The condition report on your coverage
- Agreed value, guaranteed. Supported by WATA grading documentation, Heritage and completed auction comps, VGPC data, and specialized appraisals. At total loss, that's what you receive, not an estimate from someone who doesn't understand what makes a complete set complete.
- $0 deductible in most U.S. states. Losing a sealed collection to a storage flood is already catastrophic.
- 90 days of newly acquired coverage. Won an auction lot at Heritage or located a sealed gem from a private seller? Covered automatically for 90 days. The hobby finds you at 1am on a Thursday.
- Worldwide coverage. Toy conventions. Retro gaming expos. Vintage synthesizer shows in Europe.
- Claims via the WAX app, staffed by people who understand the category.
- AM Best A+ (Superior) rated carrier partners with deep experience and a history of saying yes.
You've spent years learning exactly what makes something rare, original, and worth protecting. You can spot a reproduction part from across a room. Your insurance should be as precise as your eye.
