One Form. Every Specialist Market Worth Quoting.

Collector cars don't belong on a daily driver policy. WAX shops the top A+ rated specialist carriers on your behalf and brings back the right match for your car, your garage, and how you actually drive it.

How it works

WAX shops your car across the specialist market.

For collector cars, the coverage features come from specialist carriers, not from us. Our job is knowing which carrier wins for which car, and negotiating the terms on your behalf.

Step 1

Tell us about the car and the garage

Start a quote and tell us what you own, roughly what it's worth, where it lives, how you actually drive it, and any restoration or show plans. One car or twenty.

Step 2

We take it to market

We solicit terms from the specialist collector-car carriers, then negotiate. You're not buying one company's answer to every garage. You're getting the market's answer to yours.

Step 3

You pick the best match

We walk you through the options side by side: agreed value, mileage, eligibility quirks, claims reputation, what each one costs. You choose. We bind. Done.

Coverage features

The features collector-car carriers actually offer.

Specifics vary by carrier, by car, and by state. These are what WAX negotiates for across the market, so the policy you end up with reflects how you really own the car instead of a daily-driver template.

Agreed value coverage

A value you and the carrier settle on up front, paid in full on a covered total loss. No depreciation games, no actual-cash-value haircuts.

Value that keeps up with the market

Inflation-guard endorsements step your insured value up during the policy term rather than leaving it frozen until renewal. On high-value programs, some carriers will pay above the insured value on a covered total loss when the market has moved past your schedule.

OEM parts and your choice of shop

Original parts on covered repairs, and the specialist who knows your car handling the work instead of a network assignment. Standard on some carriers, negotiable on others. This is one of the sharpest differences between markets and one of the least understood.

Flexible mileage plans

From garage-queen to driver-grade. Tiers run from 1,000 annual miles to unlimited depending on the carrier and how the car is actually used.

Multi-car and collection structures

Some carriers charge liability once across the whole policy regardless of how many cars are on it, rather than per vehicle. On a six-car garage that single structural difference frequently decides the placement.

Automatic coverage on new acquisitions

Buy a car at auction on Saturday and it's covered before you've called anyone. Typically 30 days up to $50,000, and materially higher on high-value programs.

Spare parts and tools

Dedicated limits for spares, NOS pieces, OEM tooling, and shop equipment, the things a daily-driver policy quietly excludes. Limits run from a few hundred dollars to $2,000 and can often be increased.

In-transit and restoration

Coverage while the car is on a transporter, at the restorer, mid-strip, or in long-term storage. Including projects not yet on the road, and comprehensive-only structures that stop charging you for collision and liability while the car is apart.

Salvage retention

If the car is totaled and you want to keep it and restore it, that's available as an endorsement or program feature depending on carrier and state.

Flatbed roadside assistance

Specialist towing built for cars that should never see a hook or a wheel-lift. Guaranteed flatbed is available across the market, though it's standard with some carriers and an optional add with others.

Trip interruption

If the car goes down far from home, lodging, meals, and onward travel are reimbursed up to the carrier's limits.

Evacuation coverage

When a hurricane or wildfire is bearing down, coverage for relocating and storing the car so it isn't sitting in the path while you're dealing with your family.

Auto-show medical reimbursement

Bystander medical at the shows, cars-and-coffee meets, and concours events you take the car to.

Worldwide travel and shipping

Touring abroad, shipping to a European rally, vintage racing weekends. Available through some markets, and we structure carriers and endorsements so coverage follows the car.

Eligibility

If it's a car you care about, there's usually a market for it.

Eligibility rules vary significantly between collector-car carriers: mileage caps, garaging, modifications, driver history, state availability. WAX knows which carrier says yes to what, so a "no" from one direct quote is not the end of the conversation.

What we place

  • Pre-war classics, mid-century grand tourers, muscle cars, and JDM legends

  • Modern supercars and limited-production hypercars

  • Restomods, period-correct restorations, and original survivors

  • Active restoration projects, including mid-teardown

  • Vintage race cars, with appropriate use and storage

  • Multi-car collections, garages, and trailered fleets

What carriers will ask of you

  • Enclosed, secure storage

A private garage, pole barn, car condo, or enclosed unit. Some carriers will consider a secured parking structure. Street parking will not work anywhere.

  • A separate daily driver

Every licensed driver in the household generally needs their own regular-use vehicle. A motorcycle doesn't count.

  • Collector use, not commuting

Shows, tours, club events, and pleasure driving are the point. Some carriers allow limited commuting, most don't.

  • A clean-enough household record

Minor violations are usually workable. Reckless driving and alcohol-related offenses affect eligibility across the board.

Our carriers

WAX holds paper with the leading A+ rated specialist collector-vehicle carriers, and we go outside that group when a car calls for it. We are carrier-agnostic by design. Different clients need different things, and no single carrier is the right answer to every garage. Carriers underwrite and issue the policies. WAX structures the solution, negotiates the terms, and stays with you from placement through renewal and claims.
